Chicago milliner Carla Faso's stunning hats have a
vintage flair. Her creations include selections for all seasons - warm
and colorful crocheted hats for winter; hand blocked straw hats for
spring and summer; and elegant felt and fabric hats which make a
statement any time of the year.
Carla received her BS in Clothing and Textiles from Southern Illinois
University and furthered her design eduction at the International
Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago. While at IADT, she was
awarded a fashion design scholarship to study at the Paris Academy. In
Paris, she studied under the famed milliner, Prudence, hat designer for
Vivienne Westwood.
Carla takes her inspiration from the vibrancy of nature's colors and
from the varied richness of past cultures, art, and historical events.
She frequently embellishes her creations with her own handcrafted
flowers and beaded trims, not to mention vintage finds. She believes
that a beautifully designed hat transforms the wearer, giving her an
elevated sense of confidence, sophistication, and flirtation.
