Jill Kramer is a
printmaker who does wonderful things in the medium of paper. From
tasteful note cards handprinted with an antique letterpress to
beautifully bound journals to handbags made from paper and book cloth,
her creations are unique and charming. Of particular note are her
signature teapot prints, which she hand paints in vibrant colors.
Jill
graduated from Kent State University with a BFA in Printmaking and has
been practicing her craft ever since. In addition to working from her
home studio, she teaches at the the Paper Source in Oak Park.
Collections of her work can be found at the Oak Park Historical
Society, the Chicago Bar Association, and the Baldwin Corporation in
Pittsburgh, PA. She has had solo and group exhibitions throughout the
midwest and holds memberships in the Chicago Printmakers Colloborative,
the Illinois Artisan Program, the Chicago Hand Book Binders, and
Expression Graphics, where she served as gallery director from 1998-89.
