Monica Howard is easily distracted by shiny things, hence her attraction to jewelry design. She was born into a large family, filled with creative souls and was raised with the idea that one should always explore every opportunity presented. Her best friend gave Monica her start in jewelry design, teaching her how to achieve the proper marriage of color in jewelry. Being able to benefit from her very diverse group of friends and family she has been able to dabble in many Art avenues which include antique hunting, rock/mineral collecting, glass collectibles, sewing and quilting, gardening, candle & soap making, metal smith classes, PMC and lapidary. She is currently taking classes in wire work and lampworking. She enjoys custom work projects which include redesigning pieces to update color, style or size, designing themed jewelry to match an outfit or event and working with vintage pieces.
